Through the Trial
Jun 04, 2018Life can be so mysterious, can’t it? Sometimes it seems as though nothing is going our way and that can make a person want to give up. It’s tough to keep a mile on your face day in and day out. I get it. Our family has had it’s fair share of heartache and struggle. That’s just the thing, though. Those struggles have shown us so much goodness in this world. After looking back, I can see so many great things that have come into our lives during times that may have seemed like low points at the beginning.
You never know when that terrible day, or horrible situation just may be repositioning you to be somewhere you need to be for something EVEN BETTER. Maybe you weren’t meant to have whatever you had your hopes on because it simply wasn’t the right time. If you would have gotten what you wanted, it could have made you miserable in the end! We all have our own struggles we need to make it through in order to become the person we are meant to be. Life is not meant to be simple, it’s meant to be memorable. Books aren’t written about people who had it easy. They are written about those that had it tough and rose in spite of that.
The next time you are comparing yourself to someone else, you need to remember that you can’t see all of their struggles. You don’t know what they have going on behind the curtain. We all filter out the stuff we are struggling with. Some people may air their dirty laundry on social media, that’s true. But most of us don’t allow others to see our tears, our pain and our doubts. You have absolutely no clue what it took for that person to be standing there today. They may have lost a parent to a terrible disease, battled their way through an addiction or lost their best friend to suicide. You just never know.
Our struggles and our blessings are for us. They are meant for us to learn and grow from. They are not for other people to judge or compare themselves against. I have seen some people smile through pain that I just don’t think I could bear. It’s inspiring! I hope I have given some sort of strength to others by sharing my own struggles and showing them how I have worked through them. Life is not always sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes it’s dark and a bit scary, but it’s those times that count the most. Those are the times when you are showing what you are truly made of. Standing up and walking through that darkness is a testament to who you are and the person you have become. You are the culmination of all the good and bad you have been through. Stand tall with that thought and never be ashamed of who you are in this moment. This is right where you need to be at this moment, and that is perfectly fine. Never let anyone tell you any different!
